Dream-folk duet Paper Aeroplanes from West Wales are rounding off their UK tour in the beautiful south of England. Their music is light and carries well in the wind, as their name might suggest. I caught them a couple of years back and am looking forward to hearing their new material live. Their new album Little Letters is out now. Cousin Jac is supporting on the whole tour with top piano driven tunes.

These four lads from different hometowns met in Brighton and by the remains of the West Pier (figuratively) formed Jetglo, with an instantly catchy pop-indie sound and a healthy dose of rock influences thrown into the mix too. A lot has happened since ‘Heavyweight Champion of the World’ was released back in 2007, but the tune is still an absolute belter! Meanwhile, several albums later, the band are on tour again promoting their latest record, Thirty Two, which has lost none of the electro-indie buzz of their debut.

Glaswegian singer/finger-style guitarist Alasdair Roberts has been pioneering folk for years, since the split of his former band Appendix Out back in 2001. With a list of influences to rival most small record shops, Half Crown are far from your typical 5-piece indie band. They recently won the Best Unsigned Band of 2013 Award from S&M, showing that they clearly have something special. Having seen them play from open mics to The Dome, I know that they will be fantastic in the intimate Prince Albert.
